Hour photo/Jennifer Manna Walter Marcus has been a mediator for 26 years. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law and as a Connecticut attorney, he practiced Family Law for 30 years. He is an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, member of the Arizona Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution, founder and former President of the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation, an affiliate member of the of the Alterative Dispute Section of the State Bar of Arizona but is not licensed to practice law in Arizona. He chaired the Standards of Practice Committee for the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation, which drafted Connecticut’s first ethical standards and best practices for Connecticut mediators. He is a mediator for the Arizona Attorney General's Office and Our Family. He produces and hosts Divorce TV on Access Tucson. He teaches Conflict Management courses for the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross. Walter Marcus is an Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer. Mary G. Marcus, Ph.D. has been a Psychologist Mediator for 21 years and had a private practice of individual, couples and family therapy for 27 years. Dr. Marcus is an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, member and former member of the the Board of Directors of the Arizona Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution, former President and Member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation. Mary Marcus is an Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer. Walter Marcus and Mary G. Marcus, Ph.D. are the authors of the Winter, 1999 article in Mediation Quarterly, "To Mediate or Not to Mediate: Financial Outcomes in Mediated Versus Adversarial Divorces," which was the first research study to statistically compare the financial results in the two most popular divorce formats in Connecticut.
